It’s always great to find fans of Instax tagging us on Instagram, and when we saw Nikita Fortmann’s holiday in Europe, we just had to find out more about her adventures with Instax.

Hi Nikita, welcome and we are looking forward to chatting with you! Would you mind quickly introducing yourself?

Hey! My name is Nikita, I’m a content creator, social media manager, traveller and a huge Instax fan! I’m super excited to be getting interviewed, thank you so much for the opportunity!

When did your love for Instax start?

So during high school, my sister and I shared a cute blue Instax Mini. Unfortunately it broke, but about a year ago, a friend and I were hanging out, and he had an Instax Square camera with him, and I INSTANTLY fell back in love! I got my Square SQ1 in December and she’s been my best friend ever since, we’re inseparable.

You recently spent some time in Europe. Did you take your Instax along? Which country did you enjoy the most?

Yesss!! There was no chance I was leaving her behind; she’s been on every trip with me since I got her. I love getting to capture stunning memories with and of my loved ones on film. I think it’s so special, and my family loves seeing the Instax come out to play because they love the vibe of having Instax prints taken too. There’s something permanent when capturing your memory on film instead of a smartphone.

Each European country was incredible and it’s hard to pick a favourite, but I think France. I was privileged to experience the South of France during the summer, and honestly, I wish I had packed more film. The beaches, the buildings, the people, the food, the streets, the vibes… I had such a great time!

My favourite tour guides were our Uber drivers, who would hear where we wanted to go and change direction to drop us off at a location 10 times better than our TikTok find.

How often do you share your Instax prints?

I’ve only ever given one print away. I keep every memory for myself for a special project I’m working on. Everyone gets to snap a photo of their print with their smartphone, and then they have to hand the print  back over to me. I’ve collected so many faces and places, and each one holds a beautiful memory.

The only print I have ever given away was actually a print I had taken of my older sister and her best friend. I gave it to my older sister in July, after her best friend had sadly passed away. It only felt right to share it with her.

If you were able to design your own Instax film what would it look like?

I love the minimalistic, neutral vibe so much. However, I’m obsessed with the look of the Square SQ1, so perhaps film in a chalk white or tan colour combo instead.

If you could take an Instax selfie with anyone, who would that be?

I would say Dave (the UK rapper) or Adam Sandler. Dave has been one of my favourite artists for years, and Adam Sandler seems like he would be fun to hang out with for obvious reasons, lol.

But, if I had to choose someone from the past, I’m gonna have to be sentimental and choose my great-grandmother. She was my favourite person in the world, and I don’t have any pictures with her.

What’s your favourite song, at the moment?

Genuinely depends on my mood, but since I just got back from my Euro Summer, I have been listening to Yamore by MoBlack a lot.

What’s your favourite movie, at the moment?

Interstellar is always number one, it’s gonna be tough to knock it off in first place.

What would you rather be doing, at the moment?

TRAVELLING!
